We first met in early 2022. Nothing dramatic—just a regular encounter. But something about it lingered.
A few months later, Reba found out that Thando was a dentist. Now, this man had been running from the dentist’s chair for over two years thanks to one stubborn toothache. But suddenly—miraculously—he decided it was time to face his fears. Not because the pain was unbearable, no. But because she was the dentist. And apparently, her beauty had healing powers.
So, Reba booked the appointment (pretending to be brave), walked into the practice (still pretending), and got treated by the calmest, kindest, most beautiful dentist he’d ever seen. The tooth was fixed… but something else began. A few days later, Thando received 100 white roses at her practice. No card. Just a message asking her to dinner.
She wasn’t sure. Reba was charming, but she’d heard about men and their toothache tricks before. Still, something told her to go. Maybe it was curiosity… or maybe it was the 100 roses. Either way, she said yes—to an “after hours” dinner.
That dinner turned into long phone calls, spontaneous meetups, and eventually, a romantic getaway to Franschhoek in October 2022. Somewhere between the wine farms and the mountain views, we became official.
Fast forward to 12 months life gave us the greatest gift: our son, Pako Ntsikayethu Kgobokoe, born on 26 September 2023. His name means “All Glory to God ”—and sure enough he truly is a gift from God.
A year later, on 28 September 2024, our families came together to finalise lobola and bless our union. Dr. Joseph Kansema, who walked with us through premarital counselling, prayed over us that same day. It felt like heaven’s stamp of approval.
Then came our uMembeso on 22 March 2025 in Howick—a celebration full of colour, culture, and love. Now, all roads lead to 13 December 2025. We’re getting married at The Farm Inn in Silverlakes, Pretoria. And this time, we won’t just be telling the story—we’ll be writing a brand new chapter, surrounded by the people we love most.
